Client is a well known financial trading firm. Very challenging and fast paced environment
In a nutshell the group is looking for someone to be the “go to" person for Trade Support Analysts working on the trade floor. Perl is the most commonly used scripting language so this person will have to mentor and handle some of the more sophisticated issues. Experience working with traders on the floor is a must.
If someone is a strong hands on Trade Support Analyst, who could leverage into this role that would be fine as well.
DESCRIPTION
Trading System Lead will be responsible for managing Front Office trading systems within the organization. The successful candidate will be working very closely with the traders and business team, and lead a small team of Trading System Administrators. This position leads the support and assurance initiatives for the current trading applications, while managing deployment tasks such as software installations, patch upgrades, code deployments, coordinating with development, infrastructure teams and external vendors.
Role and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the multiple silo based environments (including production) for core business applications across front office covering electronic trading, pricing and risk systems across multiple product groups
• Work with development team in regression testing functionality, stress test servers for capacity and performance.
• Contribute to the quality of the Execution service lines, by measuring, identifying and communicating about applications to at their early inception.
• Work with the business and lead analysis and project development.
• Work on tactical development, tools development for the traders and business.
• This position may be involved in functional analysis and documentation.
• Manage direct communication with Traders, Business managers and Development Leads.
• Escalate hot issues pro-actively and ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and development.
REQUIREMENTS
• Experience managing production & support on key financial markets systems, bug-fixing, development, code enhancement
• Prior experience supporting traders, trading desks is a must
• Solid knowledge of Trading Systems Applications, OMS, FIX engines.
• Proven experience of application support and administration
• 6-8 years UNIX/Linux, Perl, Python, Scripting, problem solving & support experience in a financial markets environment
• Experience of C++ is desirable
• Experience with testing methodologies and test tools desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
