Responsibilities

* Identify and capture current opportunities; research and introduce new trading strategies for the long end of the curve

* Communicate daily with the rest of the fixed income team regarding new opportunities and strategies

* Engage in daily trading of on the run cash and futures contracts in the long end of the curve

* Trade long end off the run treasuries

* Carefully manage the curve and delta risk of a long end portfolio

* Assist in the growth and development of junior traders

Requirements

* Minimum of three years experience successfully managing a US Treasury cash and futures flow book

* Previous experience trading a long end treasury book highly preferred

* Must have strong risk management skills and an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the treasury and repo markets

* Bachelor's degree

* Must be proficient in Excel and Bloomberg

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Strong quantitative skills

* Strong team player

We are seeking a Senior Trader to join the staff at our Newark, Delaware location. Senior Trader - Level 2 utilize short-term power trading experience in the evaluation and execution of hourly electricity transactions in the Day Ahead and Real Time markets of the eastern interconnect power grid within the current and prompt months. Demonstrate a high level of trading and fundamental expertise in at least one of the following pools: PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and IESO. Perform detailed fundamental and statistical analysis to optimize trading opportunities. Coordinate with other business units on the trading floor to optimize financial opportunities for the Short-term Power Trading desk as well as the overall company. Maintain trading practices within the Merchant Risk Management guidelines and corporate ethical standards. Conectiv currently operates a 4-day, 40 hour per week rotating schedule with no overnight shift.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Marketing, Finance or Engineering OR the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
* Experience demonstrating skill evaluating and executing short-term power trading (physical and/or financial hourly and/or daily electricity transactions).
* Experience demonstrating skill performing detailed fundamental and statistical analyses (e.g., analyzing LMP, congestion, unit availability).
* Experience demonstrating skill initiating and developing new, creative, and/or innovative trading strategies, opportunities, and/or analysis techniques to optimize power trading transactions.
* Experience demonstrating skill maintaining a power-trading system, to include entering all transactions, submitting schedules and verifying transactions with counterparties.
* Experience demonstrating skill providing daily market intelligence information (e.g., identifying buyers and sellers at various hub locations, recording market prices being transacted, and/or identifying transmission outages/constraints and presenting data to others..
* Experience demonstrating skill developing credible and effective relationships with internal and external parties (e.g., other business units, trading/scheduling counterparties).
* Experience demonstrating skill using OASIS and ISO trading systems to accurately execute and maintain transactions on a timely basis and optimize with NERC operation guidelines and procedures.
* Experience demonstrating advanced skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, Internet and e-mail software (e.g., to create communications, perform statistical/fundamental analysis, visit operational interfaces).
* Ability and willingness to analyze and adapt to multiple and changing market conditions to take advantage of market volatility (for example, monitor computer applications simultaneously, adapt to new rules regarding market activity).
* Ability and willingness to function quickly and accurately in a time constrained environment.
* Ability and willingness to work in a team environment with group performance based rewards.
* Ability and willingness to work varying and rotating shifts (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year), be flexible to schedule changes and work extended hours as required.
* Must successfully pass Criminal History Records Check.

Preferred:

* Detailed knowledge of MISO and/or NYISO transmission and generation grids.
* Experience in FTR analysis and trading in MISO, NYISO, and/or NE-ISO.
* Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based presentation software.
* Experience demonstrating skill leading teams and/or mentoring others.

Responsible for trading energy commodities, options, heat rates, and energy products in various markets (MISO, PJM, NYISO) ranging from intraday through 5 years, depending on assigned book. Perform individual research, deal entry management, and monthly reconciliation. Make markets for asset optimization groups that are responsible for hedging company's nationwide generation portfolio.

Qualifications:

Bachelor???s Degree in Business or Technical field. Post graduate education a plus. Three years of relevant experience required with career progression to include physical scheduling and hourly, cash, and financial trading (dependent on assigned book). High level of math background preferred. Knowledge of multiple trading transaction systems helpful. Must be a disciplined trader, highly organized, and a team player willing to work with individuals across all parts of a diversified regulated/competitive energy corporation. The Senior Trader will be located at our downtown office in Knoxville, TN. The Trader has accountability to provide term power trading, origination, and environmental attribute trading functions for Alcoa Power Generating Inc., Alcoa Power Marketing LLC, and Alcoa Allowance Management Inc. on behalf of Alcoa, Inc. The position performs term physical power transactions, emission allowance trading including but not limited to SO2, NOx, CO2e, RECS, white credits, and Hg, financial trading to hedge Alcoa power positions, and custom deal origination including CO2e offsets. This position will require some domestic and international travel and this opportunity could be a job grade 19 or 20 depending on experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform long term physical power transactions (1 mo. or greater), environmental attribute trading, financial trades in support of power positions as approved by the SRMC, and remarket of long term transmission positions
* Pursue Origination deals. These are longer term, custom power deals that may involve capacity, ancillary services, transmission access, operating and trading services, and/or leasing and require the development of a stand alone contract/agreement
* Pursue CO2e world-wide offset opportunities
* Transact CO2e in any of the worldwide market in support of Alcoa Inc. facility and corporate needs
* Transact in compliance and voluntary RECS and efficiency credits (white) markets
* Oversee any market positions and compliance obligations that Alcoa Inc. chooses to have on various power or environmental trading exchanges such as CCX or ICE
* Perform special assignments and projects as assigned by the Director, Energy Markets
