Neuberger Berman Fixed Income LLC (“NB") Operations supports institutional asset management portfolio managers/traders within the IMD Division. NB Operations staff, based in Chicago, is responsible for the efficient and accurate recording of transactions and asset information through trade management oversight, coordination of trade settlement with clients’ custodian banks as well as the reconciliation of client accounts with custodian banks. In addition, NB Operations supports the portfolio management process by providing and maintaining portfolio information, benchmark and security data. Through the maintenance and reconciliation of portfolios, portfolio analytics and performance data, NB Operations ensures the quality portfolio management and client reporting.

The Derivatives Analyst role has responsibility for processing derivatives and accounting activities, providing support to the investment management professionals for ensuring derivatives are valued accurately. Has responsibility for collateral management and tracking, working with custodians and trustees to ensure adequate maintenance and proper attribution of any collateral income. Additionally, this position has the responsibility of coordinating the settlement of currency forwards.

Responsibilities:

* Facilitate ongoing maintenance of derivatives positions (e.g. resets, variation margin, etc).
* Coordinate with internal departments to ensure that all derivatives are accurately recorded on the firm’s books.
* Provide back up for daily balancing of futures and margin positions.
* Responsible for daily review of collateral levels directly related to existing derivative positions.
* Affect daily cash and security transfers for client accounts outside of the collateral management process.
* Manage collateral for all derivatives. Ensure adequate collateral is held for all positions, and manage movement of collateral and income attributed to that collateral.
* Assist with ad hoc projects and/or client requests as needed.

Requirements

* Minimum 2 years of investment accounting or derivatives experience.
* Working knowledge of fixed income security operations, transactions and processing.
* Ability to gain a thorough understanding of the business’s products, trading strategies and client contract specifications.
* Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with portfolio managers, traders, client service, custodians and trustees.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
* Able to work in a team environment while taking individual responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.
* The applicant must have strong organizational and math skills, and have the ability to problem-solve and be sensitive to deadlines.
* B.A. degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
* Knowledge of Bloomberg & Portia Accounting System a plus
