Job Description:
Responsible for market making in Fixed income securities, Structured Mortgages/CMO Sector.
Key Accountabilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To make markets in Fixed income securities, specifically the CMO mortgage sector
- Provide liquidity where appropriate and achieve/exceed profit target
- Manage risk in accordance with RBC policy
- Provide actionable trade ideas for salespeople to propose to end clients
- Report profit and loss daily, and mark book appropriately
- To be a top "call- in our chosen areas of expertise
- To facilitate new issue process
Managerial Excellence:
- Ensure that employees understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviours that contribute to RBC goals.
- Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development and rewarding strong performance.
- Leverage the value in unit, department, and enterprise wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross enterprise mindset.
- Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process, and keeping them focused on business priorities.
Requirements:
- BA, MBA, MA or MS or equivalent
- Solid understanding of financial markets
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- 10+ years experience working in a financial environment
- Minimum 5 years trading CMOs/Structured Products
- Ability to analyse risk
- Good communication skills
- Good team player
- Basic systems knowledge
- Must be Series 7 & 63 certified
Preferred:
- CFA
- Post graduate university training
Experience: Minimum 10 years
Education: BA/BS
