BASIC PURPOSE
Analyze, price, and trade investments, liabilities, hedges and perform related reporting within the delegated authority and responsibility established by department management.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Within delegated responsibility, analyze, execute, and perform reporting for investments for the Bank’s term investment and liquidity portfolio in a manner consistent with the Bank’s strategic objectives, and risk management and capital market policies.
2. Within delegated responsibility, analyze, execute, and perform reporting for liabilities including consolidated obligations, repo, and fed funds in a manner consistent with the Bank’s strategic objectives, and risk management and capital market policies.
3. Assist department management in the analysis and execution of derivative hedges in a manner consistent with the Bank’s strategic objectives, and risk management and capital market policies.
4. Assist in servicing Bank members, including the pricing of various credit products, the calculation of advance prepayment fees, and supporting the advance rate setting process.
5. Assist in the management of the Bank’s liquidity position and monitoring derivative exposure.
6. Monitor, research, and report changes in the marketplace impacting the Bank’s capital market activities including improvements to valuation techniques and analytical software. Provide commentaries and updates on market conditions.
7. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1. MBA preferred or BA or BS desired with a major in business, finance, mathematics or economics.
2. 5 to 7 years of capital markets experience with extensive exposure to MBS and interest rate derivatives required.
3. Experience in using fixed income analytical software. Knowledge of Yield Book and Bloomberg preferred. Proficiency in Excel required.
4. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
