Description Stifel Nicolaus, one of the nation’s premier investment firms, is seeking qualified candidates for a for our Baltimore, MD location. Under administrative direction, the successful candidate for this position will perform tasks of a highly technical/complex nature requiring the regular exercise of individual judgment and initiative. This individual will serve our total return and insurance company clients by providing portfolio reviews, customized investment strategies, and bond analysis. Will work in close coordination with account representatives and present recommendations to clients.
Essential Functions:
* Receives and analyzes fixed-income securities issue prospectus; organizes and summarizes key factual information contained therein in order to make recommendations regarding investment strategy.
* Writes abbreviated reports for use by system and customers.
* Maintains records of earnings; summarizes trends periodically; distributes reports of same to interested parties.
* Answers inquiries from branches and customers and performs special statistical analyses as assigned.
* Presents recommendations to clients via conference calls, on-site visits, and written reports.
* Publishes periodic reports covering bond index performance, total return strategies, mortgage prepayment trends, and investment product research.
* Interacts daily with clients, account representatives, traders, and other fixed income strategists.
* Stays abreast of trends and news such as competitive position and financial stability of organizations in order to identify potential risks.
* May lead and direct the work of others.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
