Our client, a proprietary trading firm in New York, is looking for a strong C++ Developer. The ideal candidate will be from a top university and have had at least two years of experience at a top technology company, proprietary trading firm, or trading group at an investment bank. Trading industry experience is not required if the candidate has a strong analytical approach to solving business issues. The C++ Developer will participate in the design, development and implementation of complex applications running in a Linux / Unix environment. This candidate will be expected to work under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned team members. This role will provide the opportunity to interact closely with the traders, and eventually move into a senior developer role.
Requirements * Minimum 1 year of experience with C++ programming in a Linux / Unix environment.
* Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
* Proven experience working under dynamic conditions.
* Must have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player.
* Must be detail-oriented and able to respond quickly to requests from traders.
* Must be a self-starter who has the ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding trading environment where your contribution is directly rewarded based on results. * Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other related field. Advanced degree is a plus (Must have graduated from a highly respected program).
