Description Temporary Assistant Trader who will be responsible for supporting the trading, hedging, financing and operations of the Credit Business within Global Fixed Income. The Credit Business transacts corporate bonds, bank debt, and CDS in both the Investment Grade and High Yield universe and on behalf of index, active long only and hedge fund investors.
The position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, very high attention to detail, the ability to make decisions and strong spreadsheet skills. Day to day functions will include trade capture and middle office interface; A successful candidate will also contribute to longer term projects that optimize the transactional flows of the group as well as work on projects supporting the Head of Fixed Income Trading.
In addition to being analytical / quantitative, the position requires strong organizational and decision making skills, solid written and oral communication and attention to detail. Experience with trade capture systems and or trading process flows is highly desirable, as is experience on a sell-side credit trading desk. Initiative anbd being a self-starter are also desirable attributes.
Key Responsibilities
� use analytical and qualitative tools to optimize the trade booking process
� Work closely with other traders to maximize process flows (including hedging and repo);
� Take �last mile� decision making from various trading functions and liaise with middle office in implementing process upgrades
Requirements Qualifications
� Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while producing a high quality work.
� Ability to identify risk situations and provide solutions.
� Ideal person should be a creative thinker and be comfortable taking initiative in pursuing new opportunities. Initiative and personal drive are a must.
� Strong written, verbal and listening skills.
� Detail oriented.
� Punctual, courteous and independent.
� Experience in the financial industry-2 years minimum.
� College degree in business or economics required; financial concentration preferred.
� Experience with Excel and other MS Office required.
