Position Information

Position: Helpdesk - Senior Helpdesk Technician

Start Date: 7/1/2009

Duration: 6 Months+

Hrs/Wk: 40.00

Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Modify and repair PC’s, monitors, drives and keyboards. Track repeated hardware problems and perform periodic hardware maintenance. Install terminals, test hardware and maintain service logs. Oversee wallboard operations, train junior staff technicians, and take lead on trading floor-related projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Support Windows XP, various software and hardware in the back office and trading floor environments.

• Altiris administration.

• Asset management .

• Maintain and configure laptops.

• Maintain PRS handheld units.

• Install and maintain trading floor workstations.

• Maintain wallboard functionality, including server maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Issue TMS user ID’s for clerks and brokers on trading floor.

• Maintain Wallboard Display System.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

• Follow up on open calls.

• Provide equipment inventory tracking.

• Documentation of procedures and incident reports.

• Research and recommend new hardware and software.

• Perform periodic maintenance.

• Ensure systems at I-Park are up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills

• Specific skills and experience in user support role and PC related hardware.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Knowledge of Windows XP and market data.

• Excellent written and oral skills.

Experience

• Minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Financial Industry.

Education

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for assisting a team of technicians and prioritizing service calls. Provide support for the Exchange’s trading and corporate business applications.

WORK ENVIORNMENT:

• Trading floor environment, as well as, corporate office setting, requires ability to effectively communicate with energetic, highly motivated traders and members, in a professional, objective manner, under stressful circumstances.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position requires no special physical demands other than those specified according to the job as described. Such demands may require, but are not limited to meeting with, contacting and interacting with, traders and clerks. Some heavy lifting is required.

Additional Skills:

Specific skills and experience in user support role and PC related hardware.

Trading Floor experience preferred but not a must.
