ACTIVE TRADING BUSINESS ANALYST
Interacts with business clients to gather requirements and to recommend how these translate into system design and requirements. Serves as a link between the business and the technical teams. Serves as a critical resource or participant in business process re-design activities. Assists the business in determining if and how new systems or system enhancements may improve process flow and business function.
JOB DUTIES:
* Interacts with business customers to gather requirements and to recommend how these translate into system design and requirements
* Serves as a link between the business and the technical team by translating business needs into developer-ready requirements
* Serves as a critical resource or participant in business process re-design activities.
* Assists the business in determining if and how new systems or system enhancements may improve process flow and business function
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of business strategies, issues and problems as well as the organization's technical systems and architectural requirements
* Identifies, models and documents business requirements and participates in overall project documentation as required
* Should be able to determine and manage the goal of making all requirements testable.
* Works with the business and technical teams to manage requests for changes to the requirements and specifications throughout the project
* Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively to business customers and to the technical team
* Expected to analyze problems of a moderately complex nature and to recommend solutions.
* Works with the project team to determine appropriate test and deployment plans, along with being able to support the product launch
* Works with the business to recommend appropriate training, communication and scheduling as systems are deployed
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of project management techniques and may participate in project cost estimates
* Will work with and represent the project stakeholders to obtain information and to verify decisions
* Works with peers to provide Quality inspection on all requirements.
* Should be able to identify and communicate risks, along with being able to identify possible solutions.
* Will input into the phasing of projects
* Responsible for tracking and documentation of status of projects for corporate wide updates
EXPERIENCE
*The job will require an extensive experience in the area technology documentation and requirements writing.
* Looking for extensive trading and derivatives knowledge. Futures, forex, and options knowledge essential.
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of business strategies, issues and problems as well as the organization's technical systems and architectural requirements
* Documents business requirements and participates in overall project documentation as required
* Partners with the business and technical teams to manage requests for changes to requirements and specifications throughout the project
* Must be able to communicate effectively to business clients and to the technical team
*Applicant must have strong software experience including some working history with ORCL, Java, J2ME, Mac’s and Flash.
* Experience with analyzing problems of a complex nature
* Works with the project team to determine appropriate test and deployment plans
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of project management techniques and may participate in project cost estimates
* Assists with UAT process
* Solid problem solving and analytical skills
* Effective requirement writing skills
* Ability to understand and utilize a Product Lifecycle
* Solid business knowledge as it relates to the brokerage industry and capital markets
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required for interactions across organization
Minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience
Series 7 and 63 licensed
Preferred Skills: Project Management experience
Experience with Problem solving and negotiation
Experience with Process, Flow and Data modeling
Experience in trading and derivatives
Ability to meet deadlines
Broker to Broker Conversion experience a plus
Brokerage Back Office System Experience
Required Education: * Bachelor degree in business, finance, or related field.
Requirements
