NEXT Financial Group is currently seeking an entry level Trader to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Job Summary:

The Trader will be responsible for providing order execution support and services to NEXT Field Representatives and OSJ Supervisors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Receives telephone orders for all products and places the order in the clearing firm system
* Receives and assures the timely execution of Equity option orders
* Provides quotes, historic prices and other information to representatives on request
* Answers order entry inquiries and provide order entry orientation support to representatives and OSJ Supervisors
* Maintains the open order file and assures the timely processing of open orders
* Validates and corrects discrepancies in commission and transaction charges between the clearing firm and back office systems
* Performs error trade corrections and adjustments
* Performs ancillary projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED
* 2 years of industry experience
* 1 year of data entry experience
* 1 year of office experience required
* Must pass Series 53 exam within 6 months of taking the position
* Strong verbal communication, diplomatic and interpersonal skills required
* Attention to detail and follow-up skills required
* Current Series 7 license required
* Familiarity with Independent Broker Dealer Industry
