Department Overview
The Commodities Operations group is a global team made up of over 100 individuals that support the Commodities Trading Business. The Operations team handles all confirm processing, settlements, trade reconciliations both internally and externally as well as many other functions.
Main Function
Responsible for confirmation generation and transmittal, e-confirm, matching incoming docs, and chasing outstanding confirmations.
Main Duties
· Responsible for confirmation generation and transmittal, e-confirm, matching incoming docs, and chasing outstanding confirmations. · Products will include Financial swaps, and options. · Interact with various departments throughout the Firm including Traders, Product Control, Credit, Documentation and Legal. · Must have the ability to communicate at all levels. · Resolve discrepancies with counterparties arising from settlement prices and confirmation discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner. · Analyze weekly metrics reports. · Must be able to identify and resolve trends that adversely affect confirm execution. Identify and drive technology improvements as needed. Assist in the testing and implementation of system and process improvements.
Person Requirements
BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration a plus. · Understanding the trade life cycle particularly the confirmation and settlement areas (clients and market side). · Experience supporting Sales Desk trades and coordinating the confirmation process. Thorough knowledge of derivative products, ISDA templates/terminology and industry issues preferred. · Good communication skills, both verbal and written. · Needs to demonstrate high level of self-motivation and ability to work without supervision (‘self-starting’ is key). · Must have strong analytical, organizational, verbal skills, attention to detail, and customer service skills
