This position is for a 3+ month contract primarily working on enhancements to an existing trading platform and an opportunity to work on the build of a new trading platform.

The Equity Business Analyst will write requirements, interface with traders and development team. Also, be responsible for entering defects, working with developers to hep understand project scope and requirement changes.

- contribute to strategies related to fuel supply and gas transport for the US northeast

- execute successful hedges to optimize gas transportation assets and basis exposure created by the generation assets

- hedge and price locational power prices for load sales and generation output

- guide the participation in the ISO transmission markets (FTRs, TTCs)

- attend conference and industry events related to gas transportation and power transmission

Requirements


Qualifications:

- BA/BS in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline required

- strong database application and spreadsheet skills required

- Excellent analytical, communication and prioritization skills

Desired Qualifications:

- 1-2 years experience working in a front to mid office energy trading team

- 1-2 years experience working as a trader in another industry (banking, etc.)

- Understanding of regulatory effects on gas transportation and power transmission

- Familiarity with US northeast power and gas markets

- Modelling experience of either transmission or transportation would be an asset
