Newedge Group is a global brokerage firm and world leader in electronic and voice execution. We’re among the top international clearers worldwide, with a direct access to more than 70 exchanges across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. Newedge USA LLC is looking for a Sr. Senior Trader on our Asia shift (3:30PM - 12:00 AM) to join our FOREX Group in our New York office.

POSITION SUMMARY: Execute Foreign Exchange OTC, Cash, Currency Options and EFP transactions. In addition, keep customers updated on market news and views. This position is primarily focusing on managing the liquidity and managing clients.

Day to day responsibilities include:

* Ascertain the best method for trade execution (spot/forward/EFP). This is accomplished by using information from the electronic trading platforms (EBS, Reuters 3000) and speaking with banks (discussing liquidity, pricing, and time frames.) A determination must be then be made by the trader on which bank to execute with and which currency (some banks can only do smaller size).

* Keep abreast of market news as well as keep customers informed of same (by reading Reuters, Kobra, and Bloomberg).

* Manage liquidity with our inter-bank counterparts (decide which banks can handle the volume and which traders will provide the best price).

* Monitor EFP book. Monitor spreads between EFP and cash foreign exchange equivalent. This results in P&L fix. (Takes 3 - 6 months to learn this skill).

* Check and balance customer accounts.

* Trade input.

* Reconcile trade sheets at end of shift.

* Entertain clients and other new business opportunities.

* And other duties or projects, as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications include:

* College Degree preferred.

* 5 years previous experience in the above daily responsibilities.

* Basic knowledge of macro-economics, political developments, and market liquidity conditions.

* Computer skills including Word, Excel and Lotus Notes. Knowledge and experience with reading and understanding the Reuter’s 3000 dealing system, Kobra, and Bloomberg.

* Ability to understand economic, political and market changes and develop a strategy for trade execution. Excellent customer service skills.

* Ability to analyze information and make decisions based on that information

* Knowledge of foreign exchange markets and its conventions.
