Description
Vanguard, one of the world's leading financial services companies, seeks an experienced bond trader to assist brokerage clients with the purchase and sale of fixed-income instruments.
As a key member of our Fixed Income Desk you'll field inquiries from existing clients; using web-based tools, software, and contacts with broker/dealers, you'll relay accurate information on pricing and specific bond characteristics. You'll identify bond market bids and offerings, and execute trades for clients as requested. You'll complete all related processing and tracking paperwork within established daily timeframes.
As a liaison to external bond vendors and market broker/dealers, you'll be expected to build successful working relationships that facilitate client trades. You'll work closely with internal colleagues whose clients' portfolios contain fixed-income instruments.
You should have a strong working knowledge of the forces that impact the bond market, and a willingness to increase your knowledge and understanding of fixed-income portfolios and bond market transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- Two to three years' experience in an investment environment, preferably with fixed income portfolios.
- Solid working knowledge of bond markets, laddering, available instruments and their tax implications, and other related information.
- Excellent communication, organizational and quantitative skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
