Position Summary
The FTR/Power Trader will help develop Calpine's FTR & CRR analysis and trading strategy. The FTR/Power Trader will possess a track record of profitable FTR trading and will support power trading activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
# Must have experience analyzing and acquiring FTRs .
# Develop in-house software algorithms to support FTR & CRR analytics.
# Experience in analyzing and forecasting transmission congestion and the related pricing impacts both day-ahead and real-time.
# Formulate and recommend strategies to maximize portfolio value that are based on portfolio position, portfolio risk, pre and post market analysis, and market view.
# Assist in optimization of portfolio by using internally developed models/ software, and commercial statistical software.
# Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications
# 5-8 years experience in power trading and transmission system planning and/or operation.
# Experience trading CRRs & FTRs.
# Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, or other quantitative field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
# Demonstrated experience and understanding of ISO market structure.
# Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
# Understanding of energy commodities is preferred.
