Hyrian, the recruitment department for great companies, is proud to announce a new Trader position in New York City. Our client manages the largest online trading platform for investors interested in buying and selling illiquid assets. Members of the trading platform include more than 1,500 institutional and accredited investors representing over $250 billion in assets available for investment. Founded in 2004, the company has quickly grown and is consistently profitable. Now they’re searching for an experienced securities trader like you to become part of this successful team.
What would you be doing?
As a Trader in the unregistered securities division, you would facilitate privately negotiated transactions at public companies. Your responsibilities would include:
* Trading unregistered securities via an online platform and by phone
* Negotiating transactions of private sales between sellers and buyers of restricted securities
* Gathering key information from clients
* Developing business relationships with new and existing clients
* Managing administrative functions (e.g. handling listings on the online trading platform, preparing trade documents)
* Researching potential trade opportunities

What kind of candidate are we looking for?
We’re seeking a sharp, tenacious and polished professional with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Sound like you? Here are a few more qualifications we’re looking for in the ideal candidate:
* At least 1 year of experience in the securities industry
* Microsoft Office proficiency
* A Bachelor’s degree completed, with a 3.0 GPA or higher
* Private Investments in Public Equity (PIPE) experience will be very helpful
* Series 7 and 63 completion is a plus
* Hedge fund experience is ideal
* Bloomberg and Reuters Financial Terminal skills are also preferred
