A top hedge fund is looking for exceptional Java or C++ technologists to work in their NYC headquarters on their high frequency trading systems. This is a technology driven firm made up of 95% developers and 5% traders.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on systems that are constantly being re-engineered to be faster and more efficient in Java. They use computer-based models to predict price changes in easily-traded financial instruments. These models are based on analyzing as much data as can be gathered, then looking for non-random movements to make predictions. They trade with such high-frequency that they account for over 5% of all the trades occurring on NASDAQ some days. Some of their systems execute trades purely electronically on direction from a computer model. The fund trades across asset classes and is incredibly secretive with their methods.
