Requirements

TRADING SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

* Process Trades -Trade inquiries and closures

* Liaison with financial planning teams

* Customer open order reconciliation

* Demonstrated initiative in gaining knowledge and willingness to participate in departmental projects as assigned

* Two (2) years minimum broker experience preferred

SKILLS: -

* Attention to Detail
* Excellent customer service and communication skills a must
* Reconciliation skills (Trading reconciliation a plus)
* Familiar with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Software
* Excellent organizational skills
* Proactive and be able to multi-task
* Intermediate knowledge of Excel preferred
* Desire to possibly become a full time trader
* Can handle pressure and tight deadlines
* Ability to work in a team environment is essential

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES


* 4 years college or equivalent experience, previous experience in a financial industry preferred.
* Must have Series 7 and 63 licenses

The Senior Trader position will focus on the analysis, execution and research of term debt issuance for the company with a specific focus on option-embedded debt. During 2006 Fannie Mae issued $180 billion in term debt, $100 bln of which was callable including fixed rate, step-ups and structured notes. All callable debt is issued to support Fannie Mae's mortgage portfolio activity.

The position will have the authority to commit the company to long term debt obligations and will have daily interaction with senior members of the Capital Markets area. Will be a direct link between Fannie Mae and the agency market place via to dealer relationships and will be called upon to represent the Company at investor meetings.

* Perform fixed income instrument analysis on daily funding opportunities and redemption decisions, which include using internal pricing models along with external systems including Bloomberg and YieldBook and development of spreadsheet-based applications when required. Offer suggestions for technology and model improvements.
* Research, maintain, analyze and report on information on the financial markets with a focus on the fixed income markets such as Agencies, Treasuries, Swaps and Options.
* Develop and maintain relationships with external and internal customers including other Treasurer's Office staff, Debt Marketing, Capital Markets including Portfolio Management and Strategy, Legal and Operations.
* Provide excellent service to such customers in a detailed and professional manner. Coordinate system improvements and methods for achieving efficiency in the issuance and redemption process. Develop a thorough understanding of our internal systems and provide assistance in requirements, testing, and implementation.

Requirements

* Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required, at least five years work experience in finance. CFA helpful but no required. Solid knowledge of fixed-income markets and mathematics required with an understanding of option theory.
* This position requires strong technical and analytical skills in order to learn and understand financial theory, concepts and language and apply them to daily activities. An extremely high level of accuracy is required with an ability to focus on detailed tasks under stressful time constraints. Ability to multi-task is critical.
* Position requires strong PC-related skills particularly with spreadsheets and/or database. In addition, the position requires strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively communicate with Treasury staff, internal customers, and dealers. Position requires good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility to adjust quickly to shifting changes in priorities.
* The work environment is typical of a trading floor, often noisy, limited personal space and little privacy. The atmosphere is often stressful because the pace of work is fast and continuous. Very little down time away from the trading floor during the workday. Some overtime and travel may be required to fulfill the basic job responsibilities of this position.
