Description

Energy Trader Job -> Leader in public power energy trading and risk management is searching for a REAL-TIME TRADER who will be responsible for all short-term physical power-trading activities. These activities include selling excess generation, purchasing economy/emergency energy, and necessary transmission services for our member and resources management partner needs. Responsibilities include interaction with market participants to develop, negotiate, and execute business opportunities that creates value for the company. Other duties include analyzing and evaluating complex energy transactions to ensure all relevant aspects are favorable to and consistent with the company’s risk management guidelines, including but not limited to energy price, transmission, development of e-tags, and counterparties confirmations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, finance, business, economics, mathematics or other appropriate field of study (Masters degree a plus). This position requires a minimum of three years of physical power trading experience, strong working knowledge of electric system operations, scheduling, tagging and power flows preferred and experience in and/or knowledge of the developing MISO market rules is highly desired. Candidates must be able to work rotating twelve-hour shifts.
