Job Title: Trader

Reports to: Portfolio Manager, Thomas Weisel Distribution Management/ Portfolio Manager, TW Asset Management
Position summary: Primarily responsible for the timely execution of all orders as well as providing analysis of factors affecting both individual stocks and the general market.
Position responsibilities:
Ensure best execution for all client orders
Manage trades as to minimize the market impact of the order
Provide analysis on factors moving the price of individual stocks and/or the market
Cultivate relationships with sell side traders to generate market intelligence on portfolio holdings
Manage, coordinate, and reconcile soft dollar payments
Maintain various records, including daily trades, confirms, monthly statements, soft dollar payments, and commission records
Provide monthly and quarterly reports to COO, CCO and Best Practices Committee for trade execution, commission rates and allocation, and soft dollar budget vs. actuals.
Provide data for the Portfolio Analyst
Requirements
Essential skills and experience:
Undergraduate degree in Finance or Economics required
At least 5 years experience in the investment industry
Series 7 & 63
Experience with trading stocks and options
Knowledge of technical analysis
Understanding the difference between clean and restricted stocks as it pertains to trading
Working knowledge of EZE Castle Traders Console, Bloomberg, Omgeo Alert, Oasys, FactSet, and BridgeStation
Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to multitask.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Professional presentation and account management skills
Must be a self-starter who can work independently
Must be goal driven and team oriented
Nonessential skills and experience:
· Graduate degree
· Prior distribution management experience
